So why do we choose lithium batteries? * Lithium-ion batteries has high power density, deep cycle capacity ,and longer service life than lead-acid batteries. * It also accepts high charging current and charge very fast. Lithium-ion batteries even are maintenance-free, resulting in the lowest total cost of ownership. * They can discharge reliably even at temperatures below + 60 ° C and charge stably at temperatures below + 50 ° C. * Generally speaking, lithium`s biggest advantage is its drastically reduced weight(only about 1/3 to 1/4 of lead-acid battery) and physically smaller size compared to lead-acid. * Lithium battery has also a significantly lower discharge rate(about 1% per month) compared to lead-acid(over 15% per month), faster recharge rate(at most 1 hour), incredible higher energy density (compared to a similar lead-acid application), and safer handling due to its internal chemistry, * When it comes to longevity, lithium batteries have an outstanding performance on discharge/recharge cycles, that`s around 4 times that of lead-acid batteries. So, if a lead-acid battery can last around 500 deep discharge cycles (or 80% depth of discharge cycles), a lithium battery can perform the same task upwards of 2,000 times, negating much of the upfront premium price paid for lithium batteries, thus it deserves your money. As we know, most lead-acid batteries have a shorter warranty of one year only or less, while lithium-ion batteries have a fantastic 2-3 years warranty and thoughtful after-sales service.
